Quality Report: Historical Priority

Purpose
  • This shows how many issues were open over time, based on their priority.
Ideally, the Red will shrink first, then the yellow, then green, etc.
  • Unlike Rolling Totals, which shows counts by state, independent of priority, this is only concerned with non-closed issues, regardless of state.
  • Rolling Totals might show a still-growing number of issues.
This would show whether most of those issues are urgent or not.
Benefits
  • If issues are way disproportionate in the Priority 1 compared to other priorities, then the priority field becomes less useful for developers for choosing what to work on.
  • This lets the PM know that issues may need re-prioritization.
Drawbacks
  • State is not visible... it's not clear whose queue the issues are in.
  • Only valid for one project at a time
